Skilled Worker is for people arriving in the UK to be directly employed by a company whose vacancy cannot be filled by a British or EEA worker.
It is a requirement that the company offering employment to the non- European candidate holds a license issued by the UK Border Agency. This license permits the employer to issue certificates of sponsorship in accordance with the rules.
The prospective employee will require a certificate of sponsorship in their application for Entry Clearance at the British Mission or Visa Application Centre in their home country. The certificate of sponsorship is an electronic document and is evidenced by the unique alpha numeric code.
