Immigration Health Surcharge
On the 6th April 2015 the Home Office introduced the new Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) for overseas nationals coming to the UK from outside the EEA on a temporary basis, but for more than six months. Each Migrant worker will be required to make an upfront IHS payment calculated at a sum equal to £200 annually for the full term of their respective visa, multiplied by the number of dependants under the same visa, for example:
|Number of Years visa issued for||No of Applicants and Dependants||Total Surcharge|
The only countries exempt from this requirement other than those in the European Economic Area are: Australia, New Zealand and those coming to the UK under the Tier 2 Intra-Company Transfer.
