The HSMP visa is specifically targeted at high calibre individuals who wish to come to the UK to live and work. It is initially granted for a 2 year period and then the HSMP visa can then be extended for a further 3 years provided the individual continues to meet the requirements.

An HSMP visa is granted when an individual meets a minimum points threshold of 75 points across the different categories. The current HSMP visa categories are based on age, recent earnings, qualifications and UK experience.
