This type of immigration application covers the following persons:

  • PARENTS
  • GRANDPARENTS
  • OTHER DEPENDENT RELATIVE (not spouse, unmarried partner, or child).

With this type of immigration application the Home Office may consider granting the applicant "Indefinite Leave to Remain." Our consultants will be able to further explain this process.

The applicant should meet the following criterion in order to apply for this status:

  • If the applicant is seeking to enter the UK in this capacity, then they must hold the correct Entry Clearance in order to do so.
  • That they are joining or accompanying a person who is present and settled in the UK, or who is on the same occasion being admitted for settlement.
  • That they are wholly financially, or mainly dependant upon the relative who is present and settled in the UK.
  • That they can, and will be maintained and accommodated adequately with their dependants without recourse to public funds in accommodation owned or occupied exclusively by the sponsor.
  • That they have no other close relatives in their own country to whom they could turn to for financial support.
